Our artists: interview to Valentina
Being part of the Lumen Invoco is a dream that is realized for Valentina, a great artist and today a fundamental element of the group. In this interview, she tells us about her journey: from the discovery of the passion for pois to her last performances.
How did you discover the art of pois?
I met Lumen Invoco in high school, when the teacher of Sports let us participate in a course of Pois, held by Sinaida. I immediately fell in love with this discipline and I began to dream of improving so that one day I could join the group as well.
For some years I was unable to participate in their evening training, but I continued to train alone at home until I had the opportunity to participate in another course. I enrolled immediately and from there it was almost natural to become a member of Lumen Invoco.
What goal would you like to achieve with Lumen Invoco?
Joining Lumen Invoco was the realization of a small dream that I had in the drawer, but not for this I consider myself satisfied. I do not think I’m at a level that can stop me. This is why I try to always learn new things and to improve and refine my skills.
I want to improve myself and grow both as an artist and as a person, in order to contribute to the development of the group and make my great passion my main job. I know that I will have to work hard to achieve this goal, but I am ready to face all the necessary challenges.
What do you feel when you are in front of the public?
Exhibiting in front of an audience is one of my favorite things. Before starting I’m always a bit anxious and I’m afraid of making mistakes or that something may not go as planned, but as soon as I hear the music start, all the worries slip away. Only an immense joy remains.
In those moments I’m happy to do something that I like and it makes me feel good. It makes me smile and I try to convey these emotions to those who look at me. When applause and compliments finally arrive, I’m glad I managed to give people a special experience.
